Give yourself the opportunity to learn and improve your Dutch in an enjoyable setting.

The Boost Your Dutch beginner’s courses focus on using Dutch in practice. Courses are developed by combining the approved TPRS-method (Teaching Proficiency through Storytelling & Reading) with the unique Boost Your Dutch approach for learning essential grammar.

New beginner’s courses are expected to start again in October/November 2019. For specific dates/times, please contact us directly to discuss your needs.

Each course consists of 8 two-hour sessions and includes a unique set of custom-made materials and exercises, there will not be any books required. In addition, you will also have access to a vocabulary app and verbal vocabulary lists.

Included are: easy ways to make Dutch sentences and an introduction to Dutch pronunciation, e.g. pronouncing the difficult Dutch vowel combinations: eu, ui, oe and ij.

Instruction will be given individually and/or in small groups to encourage interaction and ensure a no-stress, friendly atmosphere to practice speaking.

Nederlands voor Beginners 1

Duration: 8 lessons of 2 hours each
Course fee is €275,00 p.p. (as small group)

This course focuses on starting to use basic Dutch in practice.
Some examples of the topics discussed during the course are:

– Talking to friends, neighbours and colleagues about your daily activities, hobbies and interests
– Making requests, when you visit restaurants, shops and other local places.
– Making appointments at work, at school, for medical care (family doctor, dentist, etc.)
– Using different time structures, such as the present, past and future tense 

This course is suitable, if you have not had any previous experience learning Dutch as a second language. It is required that you are proficient in English, as this language is used as a support language to facilitate learning vocabulary and communication/explanation.

Nederlands voor Beginners 2

Duration: 8 lessons of 2 hours each
Course fee: €275,00 p.p (as small group)

This course continues to develop Dutch language skills by using more complicated language structures.
Some examples of the topics discussed during the course are:

– How to approach more formal conversations
– Adding new elements to make your conversations more lively
– Making the most of the vocabulary you have learned so far.
– Understanding more complicated sentences, e.g. using conjunctions to link sentences together

This course is suitable if you have already gained a basic level of Dutch (Nederlands voor Beginners 1) and you are able to use English as a support language.

Private lessons / flexible programmes

Course fee: to be agreed (depending upon timing, location & number of participants)

If you need more flexibility, Dutch lessons can also be put together according to your own preferences.
This type of tuition might be more suitable, if  you:

– Prefer to learn Dutch based on your own level & pace.
– Find it difficult to join a weekly class, e.g. when you are frequently involved in work-related travel
– Want to work on some specific language skills, e.g. conversation, pronunciation or writing

During all courses the following language skills will be trained: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Your Dutch trainer, Monique den Haan, has lots of relocation experience and local expertise, which ensures that lessons are both fun and informative. She also encourages interaction and discussion amongst participants.

Course fees start from €275 p.p., including all course materials, i.e. no books required. No VAT (Dutch Sales Tax) will be added. Please note that the minimum number of participants for scheduled courses will be three people. If you are interested in partaking, just contact us to register for a particular course and/or to put your name on the waiting list. Of course, we are happy to discuss your personal preferences and look for alternative solutions if required.
